The Telangana Panchayat Raj Teachers Union members have announced a donation of Rs. 16 Crore towards the Chief Minister's relief fund amidst the COVID-19 outbreak experienced in the country.
Telangana Chief Ministers Office, while acknowledging the relief money said that the consent letter given by the members of the Telangana Panchayat raj Teachers Union to donate their one-day salary was handed over to the state Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao by the PRTU President Pingili Sripal Reddy and Secretary Birelli Kamalakar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan. Apart from the one month salary of the members, the PRTU president, and secretary have also donated their individual one month's salary via cheque to the Chief Minister.
According to officials from the Chief Ministers Office, Tandur MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy has also donated his one month salary to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund via cheque to the Chief minister.
COVID-19 Cases in Telangana
According to the latest reports regarding the COVID-19 also known as Coronavirus cases in Telangana, three fresh cases have been reported in Telangana which has taken the total number of people detected with the virus to 36 in the state. The government had earlier announced a lockdown until march 31, 2020 to contain the spread of the virus.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister has announced a 21-day lockdown of the country with everything apart from essential services being shut down in the country.
The majority of the states had earlier announced a postponement of the state board examinations following an order from the MHRD which had also requested the CBSE and ICSE boards to postpone the class 10 and 12 examinations until further notice.
