UPTET 2019: As per media reports, the Special Task Force arrested seven members of a gang which leaked the UPTET question paper in Prayagraj. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board conducted the UPTET 2020 examination on January 8, 2020.
The people accused include college principal, a broker, a solver, and mobile and SIM card dealers. The accused have been arrested and questioned at the Civil Lines Police station. According to reports, the accused possessed mobile phones, pre-activated SIM cards and Bluetooth devices for leaking the UPTET 2019 question papers. The Special Task Force also seized the motor vehicles and a cash amount of Rs. 4,11,000 from those arrested in the scam.
Apart from the question paper leak, it has been reported that candidates who appeared for the examination faced other challenges like not being able to reach the examination centre due to rains. Some of the candidates from Mathura have also claimed that they could not appear for the examination due to the nationwide strike. Candidates have stated that they faced the unavailability of transportation and other resources.
Candidates appearing for the UPTET 2019 examination from Gazhipur have stated that a principal was caught helping a candidate appeared for the examination.
The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test 2019 was scheduled to be conducted earlier on December 22, 2019, but was postponed to be conducted on January 8, 2020. The examination as per reports were postponed due to the extensive strikes and protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019.
It has been reported that the further admission process which includes the release of the answer key and results will be as per schedule.
According to the schedule, the UPTET 2019 provisional answer key will be released on January 14, 2020, and candidates will be able to raise objects against the provisional answer key following which the final answer key will be released by January 31, 2020.
