A brief note on age eligibility for Common Written Examination [CWE] 2012 for selection of personnel for Clerical Cadre posts in Public Sector Banks to be conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection in December, 2012.

Ques. What is the maximum and minimum age limit for applying to Common Written Examination [CWE] 2012 for selection of personnel for Clerical Cadre posts in Public Sector Banks to be conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection in December, 2012?

Ans. The age eligibility for Common Written Examination [CWE] 2012 for selection of personnel for Clerical Cadre posts in Public Sector Banks to be conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection in December, 2012 will be reckoned on 01 January, 2012.

While the Minimum age limit is 20 years the Maximum age limit for General Category candidates is 28 years.  

The maximum age limit is relaxed by 3 years (maximum age -- 31 years) for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes and by 5 years (maximum age -- 33 years)  for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates, for the Persons affected by 1984 riots, for Persons ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir between 1 January 1980 and 31 December 1989, and for Regular employees of the Union Carbide Factory, Bhopal retrenched from service (applicable to Madhya Pradesh state only).

Widows, Divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried will be offered a relaxation of 9 years (maximum age -- 37 years) in upper age limit.

For Persons with Disability, maximum age limit is relaxed by 10 years (maximum age -- 38 years).  

For Ex-Servicemen / Disabled Ex-Servicemen, maximum age limit is relaxed by actual period of service rendered in the defense forces + 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST category) subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years.

NOTE:

• In case of a candidate who is eligible for relaxation under more than one of the above categories the age relaxation will be available on a cumulative basis with any one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted as mentioned above.

• Candidates seeking age relaxation, if called for interview, will be required to submit copies of necessary certificate(s) at the time of interview.

• The Ex-Servicemen status for the purpose of the re-employment in Government jobs ceases for an ex-Servicemen who has once joined a Government job on civil side after availing of the benefits given to him / her as an Ex-Servicemen for his / her re-employment.

• Ex-Servicemen candidates who have already secured employment under the Central Government in Group C & Group D will be permitted the benefit of age relaxation as prescribed for Ex-Servicemen for securing another employment in a higher grade or cadre in Group C / Group D under the Central Government. However, such candidates will not be eligible for the benefit of reservation for Ex-Servicemen in Central Government jobs.
