Banasthali’s QS Seminar opens with grand ceremony

The inaugural ceremony of QSIC took place on 13 February 2017 at 06:30 in the evening at Chokhi Dhani where Ms Mandy Mok, CEO – Asia QS Singapore and Prof Chitra Purohit, President, Banasthali University delivered welcome address while the keynote address was delivered by H.E. Aicha Bah Diallo, Former Chairperson, Forum for African Woman Educationalists (FAWE) and Former Minister of Education of Guinea Conakry. They highlighted the theme ‘Women’s Higher Education for Leadership and Social Innovation’ of the seminar. Next two days will be full of many academic presentations, panel discussions and debates and the seminar will come to its end on 15 March, 2017 with the closing remarks by Ms Mandy Mok and Prof. Aditya Shastri.

A delegation consisting of academicians, experts and leaders from 22 different countries visited Banasthali Vidyapith campus on Monday. The delegation was traditionally welcomed at 12:30 PM at Vidyapith’s Swagat Dwar (welcome gate) by Prof. Chitra Purohit, President of Banasthali Vidyapith, Prof. Siddharth Shastri, Vice President Prof. Aditya Shastri, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ina Shastri, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sudha Shastri, Treasurer and staff members and students. The delegates visited several premises including Birth Place of Banasthali, Residence of Founders, Art Gallery, Music & Dance and some other departments. They also witnessed Horse Riding and Flying Activities demonstrated by students in THE presence of Prof. Aditya Shastrti. The delegation keenly observed the efforts being carried by Banasthali Vidyapith in the field of women education and lauded it warmly.

During the visit Ms Mandy Mok specifically appreciated university’s five-fold education system and suggested that other universities should also adopt such systems in promoting women education and producing women leaders in different fields. The delegation also enjoyed Music & Dance performances presented by the students. They appreciated students’ exceptional traits in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
