Canara Bank Invited Online Applications for Recruitment of 633 Specialist Officer

    Canara Bank issued notification for recruitment of 633 Specialist Officers in Junior Management Grade Scale (JMGS) -I, Middle Management Grade Scale (MMGS) -II and Middle Management Grade Scale (MMGS) -III. Interested eligible candidates should apply online till 6 March 2013.

    Candidates with valid score card issued by IBPS, Mumbai in appropriate stream for the Common Written Examination [CWE] for Specialist Officers conducted in 2011-2012 (11 March 2013) are eligible to apply for 570 posts in JMGS-I & MMGS-II while only ST candidates are eligible to apply for 8 posts in MMGS-II & MMGS -III as part of Special Recruitment Drive for Scheduled Tribes as Specialist Officers.  For remaining posts in JMGS –I & MMGS -II all candidates who possess the eligibility criteria stipulated for the posts can apply.

    [Age will be reckoned as on 1 February 2013. Upper Age Limit to be relaxed by 5 years for SC/ ST candidates, by 3 years for OBC candidates and by 10 years for PWD candidate.  This is not applicable for posts under Special Recruitment Drive.]

    Eligibility Criteria:
    Recruitment of Specialist Officers in JMGS-I & MMGS-II:
    Only those candidates who possess valid IBPS Score Card in appropriate stream in CWE for Recruitment of Specialist Officers conducted on 11 March 2012 & who conform to other eligibility criterions for the posts can apply. All eligibility criteria for these posts shall be reckoned as on 1 December 2011 (inclusive).

    Recruitment of Specialist Officers in JMGS-I & MMGS-II: All candidates who conform to eligibility criteria stipulated for the posts can apply. All eligibility criteria for these posts shall be reckoned as on 1 February 2013 (inclusive).

    Special Recruitment Drive for ST as Specialist Officers in MMGS-II & III: Only candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes Category & who conform to other eligibility criterions for the posts can apply. All eligibility criteria for these posts shall be reckoned as on 1 February 2013 (inclusive).

    Computer Literacy: Operating & working knowledge in computer systems is must. A candidate must either possess or acquire this within 6 months from the date of joining the Bank.

    Hindi Knowledge: Candidate must acquire working knowledge of Hindi, if not possessed already, before completion of probationary period.

    Application Fee:  A Non-refundable application fee of Rs.20 (for SC / ST / PWD / Ex-SM candidates) / of Rs.100 (for all others) should be deposited through CBS at any branch of Canara Bank through fee payment Challan downloaded from website or by NEFT from any other Bank in a/c no. 1173201002323 of a/c of Canara Bank Recruitment Project - 1/2013, with Payee Bank: Canara Bank, South End Road Branch, Bangalore, having IFSC Code: CNRB0001173.

    Candidates applying for posts 1 to 8 should mention their Registration Number & candidates applying for posts 9 to 14 should mention their Name.

    Candidates should retain Applicant’s Counterfoil Copy of the Challan duly authenticated by the Bank / NEFT Transaction receipt with Branch Name & code No, Transaction ID / Scroll number and Deposit Date & amount filled in by the bank official.

    Selection Prodedure:
    For post 1 to 8, selection will be done on the basis of score obtained in IBPS-CWE for Specialist Officers 2011-2012, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.

    For post 9 to 14 selection will be done on the basis of Shortlisting, Group Discussion and/or Interview.

    Depending on the number of vacancies, Bank will shortlist candidates based on TWS Score obtained in IBPS-CWE for Specialist Officers (for post 1 to 8) / their academic track record, experience and suitability (for post 9 to 14) and call them for Group Discussion and/or Interview at identified centres. The centre & address of the venue, time & date for Group Discussion and/or Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter and candidates have to attend for the same at their own cost.

    The total marks allotted for Group Discussion and for Interview are 100 each. Candidates have to secure minimum marks decided by the Bank at each level of selection process and only those candidates will be considered for preparation of final rank lists.

    The final rank lists shall be prepared on the basis of TWS scores obtained by the candidates in IBPS-CWE for Specialist Officers 2011-2012, Group Discussion, Interview (for post 1 to 8) / marks secured in Group Discussion and Interview (for post 9 to 14).

    The details of shortlisted candidates for Group Discussion and/or Interview will be hosted on the website.

    Appointment of selected candidates is subject to his/her being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Bank & receiving satisfactory report from referees / police authorities.

    Call Letters, having details and schedule for Group Discussion and/or Interview, will be sent to shortlisted candidates only on the registered e-mail ID given by them. It can also be downloaded from the Bank’s website

    How to Apply: Candidates can apply online through Bank’s Website till 6 March 2013. 

    On successful submission of online application, system will generate a Registration Number and Password. Candidates should take a printout of this page along with Registration Number & Password and retain it for records.

    Candidates applying for posts 1 to 8 can apply for only one post, for which they are holding a valid score card in corresponding CWE of IBPS. These candidates should have a valid personal e-mail ID (same as registered with IBPS CWE-SPLST-2011-12.) as all communication will be sent to the candidates on this e-mail ID only.

    Candidates applying for posts 9 to 14 should have a valid personal e-mail ID as all communication will be sent to the candidates on this e-mail ID only. Before submitting, candidates can modify their on-line application two days after on-line registrations and up to 9 March 2013. After the above date, no modification will be permitted. Modification will be allowed only for 3 times.

    Candidates will have to submit the print out of application along with Payment Challan / NEFT Receipt, Print-out of GD and Interview Call Letter and original and self attested copies of other documents / certificates required, at the time of Group Discussion / Interview, if shortlisted for Group Discussion and Interview.

    Candidates applying for posts 1 to 8 will have to submit print-out of On-line application submitted to IBPS & IBPS Score Card (original). Candidates applying for post 9 will have to submit CCNA Certificate & in case of Post 10 RDBMS Certificate.

    Outstation SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities category candidates called for Group Discussion and/or interview for JMGS-I posts will be paid Second class to & fro train fare or actual expenses incurred, whichever is less, by shortest route on production of proof of travel / for MMGS-II & MMGS-III posts will be paid First class to & fro train fare or actual expenses incurred, whichever is less, by shortest route on production of proof of travel.
