Rajasthan government will appoint more than 70,000 teachers in the academic year 2011-12, Rajasthan Education Minister Bhanwarlal Meghwal announced on 7 August, 2011 as he inaugurated a new Government primary school in Churu district. The vacancies are in the State government schools. Of the 70,000 appointments, 41,000 will fall in the category of third grade teachers who will be appointed through Zila Parishads.
The minister further added that the process for appointment of 9,000 second grade teachers was in the final stage and proposal for appointment of 21,000 more second grade teachers was sent to the State Public Service Commission. Furthermore, 1000 school lecturers, 1000 laboratory boys, 2100 headmasters and 1500 physical training instructors will also be appointed.
The Education Minister also stated that physical infrastructure of schools would be developed through the national secondary education campaign launched on the lines of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
