Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission invites applications from eligible candidates for filling up the post of Clerk and Junior Scale Stenographer in various departments of Himachal Pradesh Government.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (Clerk)
- Should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized Board of School Education/University.
- Should possess a minimum speed of 30 words per minute in English typewriting or 25 words per minute in Hindi typewriting on Computer.
- Should have the Knowledge of word Processing in Computer as Prescribed by the recruiting authority.
Educational Qualification (Junior Scale Stenographer)
- Should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a Board of School Education/ University recognized by the Himachal Pradesh Government
- Must possess the following speed in shorthand and typewriting in both the languages i.e. English and Hindi at the time of initial recruitment:-
- a) Speed in Shorthand English (80 WPM); Hindi (70 WPM)
- b) Speed in Typewriting English (40 WPM); Hindi (30 WPM)
- Should have the Knowledge of word processing in computer as prescribed by the recruiting authority
Desirable Qualification (for both posts): Knowledge of customs manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the state.
Age Limit (as on 1 January 2011): Minimum 18 years and Maximum 45 years
Pay Scale
- Clerk: Rs 7810 per month consolidated
- Junior Scale Stenographer: Rs 8710 per month consolidated
Selection Procedure: The selection procedure will consist of screening test followed by an interview.
Application Fee: Application fee for unreserved category students is Rs 100 and fee for OBC/ SC/ ST candidates is Rs 25. The application fee needs to be paid in the form of Demand Draft for to be prepared in favour of Secretary, HP Public Service Commission, Nigam Vihar, Shimla-2, payable at Shimla.
How to Apply
Candidates are required to visit the Commission website at http://www.hp.gov.in/hppsc and download the application Format. Paste your one recent photograph, duly attested in the specified box and send the Application Form duly signed by the candidate (along with Demand Draft) by Registered/ Speed Post so as to reach before the last date. The application needs to be addressed to The Secretary, H.P. Public Service Commission Nigam Vihar, Shimla-171002. The application, complete in all respect can also be deposited in the office of the Commission in person. The benefit of additional time prescribed to candidates of remote/ Tribal areas will be given only when the applications are sent through post office located in such areas. No such benefit will be given if applications are received through courier or by hand.
