IIM Bangalore – one of India’s premier B-schools has wrapped up the summer placement season for the year 2018. The current placement session was organized for the Class of 2017 – 19 of their flagship PDGM programme. Ditching the downtrend that the economy faces, the B-school has managed to secure 100% placements for the students.
Commenting upon the positive trend picked up in the IIM Bangalore summer placements 2018 the Ganesh Prabhu, Chairperson, Career Development Services, IIM Bangalore, said: "The slight downturn that we observed in the final placements of the batch of 2017, just eight months ago, has been corrected by a major resurge in hiring interest across all sectors for the IIMB summer placements."
Student Participation and Recruiters
As discussed before, the current sessions of summer placements was organized on the IIM Bangalore campus. A total of 401 got placed in this session. One of the key achievement so of this year’s summer placement drive was that the over 130 companies visited the campus for the placement drive. IIM Bangalore has registered record 100% MBA placements during this summer placement session. Along with this, the top B-school has also ensured that all the students get respectable stipend packages with some of the top names and brands in the domestic as well as international market.
Domain-wise breakup of placement offers
Analysing the summer placement report of IIM Bangalore, several new insights have come to our notice. The key among that is the complete dominance of strategy consulting sector when it comes to the number of offers being extended to the students. Apart from this, recruiters from all the other sectors like business analytics, e-commerce and technology as well as investment and capital markets also made their presence felt at the IIM Bangalore Summer Placements 2018.
Strategy Consulting
The key trend that could be deciphered from the IIM Bangalore’s summer placement report was the complete dominance of consulting and especially strategy consulting sector. Strategy and Consulting sector saw a total of 90 offers being extended to IIM-B students during the summer placement season. The top recruiters among them include:
