IAF Agniveer Vayu Salary 2024: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the Agniveervayu intake 01/2025 notification. Indian Air Force invites online applications from unmarried Indian male and female candidates under Agnipath scheme to join the IAF as an Agniveervayu. 

The selected Agniveer Vayu will serve in the Indian Air Force for four years. Agniveer Vayu in-hand salary will be Rs 21,000 during the first year of service, which will increase yearly. Apart from the salary they will get Rs. 10,04,000 "Seva Nidhi" package at the time of exit after four years. 

After completing four years of service 25% of Agniveers will be enrolled as regular carders in the Indian Air Force based on organizational requirements.

Indian Air Force Agniveervayu Salary 2024

The salary of an Air Force Agniveer is Rs. 30,000/- per month with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable in the Indian Air Force), Dress and Travel allowances will be paid. The details of monthly remuneration and Agniveer Corpus fund breakup are indicated below:-

Terminal Benefits – Seva Nidhi Package

After four years of service, 25% agniveers will be enrolled as a regular cadre in Indian Air Force. The remaining 75% will be eligible to receive ‘Seva Nidhi’ package, which will comprise their contribution to the Agniveer Corpus Fund and the same contribution from the Government of India and interest on the accumulated amount.

So, the Agniveer will get around Rs. 10,04,000 (excluding interest) as the Seva Nidhi package after successfully completing four years of service.

Leaves

The following leave will be granted for Agniveers during their service period. 

Annual Leave: 30 days per year

Sick Leave: Based on medical advice.

Medical and CSD Facilities

All the Agniveers will be entitled to medical facilities at service hospitals during their service period. Apart from that they can also avail of the CSD facility

Insurance, Death, and Disability Compensation

Agniveer will be provided non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs 48,00,000 for the duration of their engagement period as Agniveer in the Indian Air Force. Agniveer will not be governed by provisions contained in the Pension Regulations/Rules for the Indian Air Force.

Compensation for Death

Agniveervayu will not be governed by provisions contained in the Pension Regulations/ Rules for IAF(as amended from time to time). In case of death, the following will be admissible to Next of Kin (NOK) from the Agniveer Corpus Fund:-

  • Insurance cover as applicable.
  • All other compensation is as per the details placed below.

Categorisation of Death

The death for the purpose of provision of financial benefits to Agniveervayu will be categorised as follows:

Category X: Death due to natural causes neither attributable to nor aggravated by military service during the engagement period.

Category Y: Death due to causes which are accepted as attributable to or aggravated by military service or due to accidents/ mishaps in the performance of duties including training during the engagement period.

Category Z: During the engagement period, death due to acts of violence/attack by terrorists, anti-social elements, enemy, during border skirmishes/war/ peacekeeping operations/ aid to civil power, etc; and during operational preparation and training for war including battle inoculation training/ exercise; and accidental deaths due to natural calamities/ operations specially notified by the Govt, etc.

Compensation for Disability

In case an individual is placed in Permanent Low Medical Category (LMC), the authorities will assess the compensation based on the percentage of disability and attributability. The extent of disability or functional incapacity shall be determined in the following manner to compute the disability compensation

Death during engagement period on Bonafide duty (Category ‘Y/Z’)

  • Insurance cover of ₹ 48 lakhs from Public Fund.
  • One-time ex-gratia ₹ 44 lakhs from Public Fund.
  • Full pay for unserved period upto four years (with effect from date of death) including Seva Nidhi component.
  • Balance accumulated (as on date) in the individual’s Seva Nidhi fund and Govt contribution including interest from the Agniveervayu Corpus Fund

Death during engagement period not on duty (Category ‘X’)

  • Insurance Cover of ₹ 48 lakhs from Public Fund.
  • Balance accumulated (as on date) in the individual’s Seva Nidhi fund and Govt contribution including interest from the Agniveervayu Corpus Fund.

Disability (attributed/aggravated due to conditions of engagement)

  • One-time ex-gratia ₹ 44/25/15 Lakhs based on % of disability (100/75/50) from Public Fund.
  • Full pay for unserved period upto four years (with effect from date of disability) including Seva Nidhi component (from Public fund).
  • Balance accumulated (as on date) in the individual’s Seva Nidhi fund including interest and Govt contribution from the Agniveervayu Corpus Fund.

Agniveer Skill Certificate

At the end of the service period, a detailed Skill-set certificate will be provided to the Agniveers, highlighting the skills and level of competency acquired by them during their engagement period.
