Maharashtra Govt Plans Record Hike in MPSC Posts, Considers Return to Objective Exam Pattern

Maharashtra MPSC Recruitment Updates: In a significant move for state public service aspirants, the Maharashtra Government has announced plans to introduce a record-breaking number of vacancies through the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). Additionally, the government is considering changing the examination format from the recently introduced descriptive pattern back to an objective (multiple-choice) pattern, following strong demand from student communities. The shift from the objective format to a descriptive pattern (aligned with the UPSC format) was previously recommended by the Dalvi Committee and implemented by the state. However, candidate feedback, which was gathered during the state-wide consultations, has highlighted a strong demand to restore the objective format.

• High-Powered Committee Consultations:- The high-powered Examination Reform Committee, which will be headed by the senior official V.Radha, has been conducting extensive hearings across the state to gather input from aspirants, experts and stakeholders.
• Overwhelming Feedback:- The committee has received over 20,000 communications regarding the examination issues, including transparency, paper delivery, and exam pattern preferences.
• Government Stance:- The state government confirmed that if the Radha Committee has formally recommended returning to the objective, multiple-choice format for examinations like State Services, Agriculture, Food Safety Officer (FSO), and Engineering Services, the government will positively consider accepting the recommendations.
