Top 15 MBBS Colleges: Why Do Delhi and Metros Rule the Rankings?

The above list fo Top Colleges makes it clear that Delhi is the hub of medical education. The top four spots are held by Delhi-based institutes such as MAMC and VMMC. Why do toppers choose them over others?
Internal PG Quota: Most Delhi colleges offer a significant advantage for post-graduation seats.
No Service Bond: Unlike many states, some central institutes have more lenient or no rural service bonds.
Clinical Exposure: Being in the capital, these hospitals handle a massive patient load, giving students unmatched hands-on experience.
However, if you move beyond Delhi, institutions such as BJMC Ahmedabad, Seth G.S. Mumbai, and KGMU Lucknow are legendary. In Uttar Pradesh, KGMU remains the "gold standard", closing at around 2,500. This means to get a seat here through AIQ students effectively need to be in the top 0.1% of all test-takers.
