    Here are the complete details of the eligibility criteria for RRB ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot) posts. RRB has released notifications for 26502 vacancies for RRB ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot) jobs across India. There will be a lot of questions the new candidates will be having in their minds regarding eligibility, educational qualification, age limit etc, we will answer all those questions in details here.

    Eligibility criteria for RRB ALP Recruitment 2018

    Educational Qualification

    • Candidates must have completed their matriculation (10th standard).
    • Candidates must have completed an ITI certificate course (approved by NCVT/SCVT) in any specific trade (vocational training/ Mechanic radio & TV/ Electronics Mechanic/ Mechanic Motor Vehicle/ Heat engine/ Turner/ Machinist/ Wireman/ Tractor mechanic/ Instrument mechanic etc).
    • Candidates having Diploma (recognized by Council for technical education) in Engineering (Electrical/ Mechanical/ Automobile) are also eligible for applying to these posts.

    Age Limit

    The aspiring candidates should not be less than 18 years of age and more than 28 years of age.

    A relaxation in age limit will be provided for the following categories/communities after submitting the applicable requisite certificates:

    • SC/ST Candidates - an exempt of 5 years in the maximum age limit.
    • OBC-Non Creamy Layer Candidates - an exempt of 3 years in the maximum age limit.
    • Ex-Serviceman Candidates (put in more than 6 months service after attestation) - an exempt of the extent of service rendered in defence plus 3 years in the maximum age limit.
    • PWD (Persons with Disabilities) UR - an exempt of 10 years in the maximum age limit.

    PWD OBC-Non Creamy Layer - an exempt of 13 years in the maximum age limit.

    PWD SC/ST - an exempt of 15 years in the maximum age limit.

    • Candidates domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 - an exempt of 5 years in the maximum age limit.
    • Candidates serving Group 'C' and erstwhile Group 'D' Railway Staff, Casual Labour and Substitutes in Railway (put in a minimum of 3 years service, continuous or in broken spells) :

    UR - an exempt of 40 years in the maximum age limit.

    OBC-Non Creamy Layer - an exempt of 43 years in the maximum age limit.

    SC/ST - an exempt of 45 years in the maximum age limit.

    • Candidates working in the Quasi-Administrative office like Railway Canteens, Co-operative Societies and Institutes of Railway organization - an exempt up to the length of service rendered (or) 5 years, whichever is lower in the maximum age limit.
    • Women Candidates, who are widowed, divorced or judicially separated from husband but not remarried:

    UR - an exempt of 35 years in the maximum age limit.

    OBC-Non Creamy Layer - an exempt of 38 years in the maximum age limit.

    SC/ST - an exempt of 40 years in the maximum age limit.

    • Candidates having completed act apprentice course applying for the posts for which the minimum qualification is ITI/Course Completed Act Apprentice - an exempt up to the extent of Apprentice training undergone by them under the Apprentice Act 1961.
    • Candidates having completed act apprentice courseunder the Apprenticeship Act before attaining the age of 25 years -

    UR - an exempt of 35 years in the maximum age limit.

    OBC-Non Creamy Layer - an exempt of 38 years in the maximum age limit.

    SC/ST - an exempt of 40 years in the maximum age limit.

    Nationality/Citizenship :
    1) The Candidate must be either:
    (a) a citizen of India, or,
    (b) a subject of Nepal, or,
    (c) a subject of Bhutan, or,
    (d) a Tibetan refugee who came to India for permanently settling down here before 1st January 1962.
    (e) a person of Indian origin who migrated to India with intentions of permanently settling down here from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.

    Medical Standards

    Candidates called for Document Verification will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit.
