RRB ALP Age Limit: 2024
To be eligible to apply for the RRB ALP 2024 exam, candidates must be at least 18 years old and not older than 30 years old for the general category, according to the official notice. It is important for applicants to remember that the age they enter on their application form needs to match the one on their matriculation certificate, SSC certificate, or equivalent document. The cutoff date to measure age is July 1, 2024.

RRB ALP Age Relaxation Official Notice
The official notice released by the Ministry of Railways is as follows:
“To give relief to many candidates who may have become over-aged and have missed the opportunity to appear in recruitment in railways due to the COVID pandemic, it has been decided to provide age relaxation of three (3) years over and above the prescribed upper age limit mentioned in the notification for recruitment to the post of Assistant Loco Pilot published under CEN 01/2024 as a one-time measure.”

RRB ALP Age Limit Relaxation 2024
There shall be a relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to the different categories/communities when applying for the RRB ALP exam. Here is the RRB ALP age limit relaxation for all the categories shared below.

RRB ALP Qualification 2024
Candidates must ensure they fulfil all the prescribed educational and technical qualifications before the closing date for submitting the application form. Check out the detailed RRB ALP qualification shared below.
- Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognised institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trades of Armature and Coil Winder / Electrician / Electronics Mechanic / Fitter / Heat Engine / Instrument Mechanic / Machinist / Mechanic Diesel / Mechanic Motor Vehicle / Millwright Maintenance Mechanic / Mechanic Radio & TV / Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic / Tractor Mechanic / Turner / Wireman
OR
- Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades prescribed above
OR
- Matriculation / SSLC plus 3 years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering
OR
- Combination of various streams of these engineering disciplines from a recognised institution in lieu of ITI.
Note: Degree in the Engineering disciplines as prescribed above will also accepted
RRB ALP Qualification 2024 Nationality
Besides the RRB ALP qualification, candidates should meet certain nationality/citizenship criteria before applying for the post. A candidate should be a:
- A citizen of India,
- A subject of Nepal,
- A subject of Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, to permanently settle in India,
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to settle in India permanently.
RRB ALP Medical Standards 2024
Candidates shortlisted for document verification will have to pass the requisite medical fitness test conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that they are physically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post.
