RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2024
The RRB ALP exam pattern consists of a four stage selection procedure, i.e., RRB ALP CBT 1 and 2, CBAT and document verification. The CBT 1 and 2 examination is an objective type examination that consists of subjects such as mathematics, reasoning and general awareness.
The CBT 2 examination is divided into two parts, such as Part A and B, where the marks score in Part A will be counted for shortlisting of candidates for shortlisting of further stages. Read on the article to know details of the RRB ALP Exam Pattern.
RRB ALP Exam Pattern for CBT 1
The first stage of the examination is known as the RRB ALP CBT 1 (Computer Based Test) exam. This stage is qualifying in nature and the marks scored in this examination are not counted while preparing the final merit list. Check the features of the RRB ALP CBT 1 exam pattern.
- The exam duration is 60 minutes.
- There will be negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer marked.
- The number of questions will be 75 for a maximum of 75 marks (each question carries 1 mark).
- Minimum pass percentage will vary as per the category - UR and EWS - 40%, OBC (NCL) - 30%, SC - 30%, ST - 25%.
- The final scores will be released after normalising; the normalised scores will be used for making the final merit list.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern for CBT 2
The second stage of the examination is known as the RRB ALP CBT 2 exam. The candidates who clear the CBT 1 examination will be called for stage 2, i.e., CBT 2. The total number of candidates who will be shortlisted for the CBT 2 examination shall be 15 times of notified vacancies.
- The CBT 2 examination will comprise of two parts, i.e., Part A and Part B.
- The total duration of the examination will be 2 hours and 30 minutes and the total questions asked will be 175.
- Part A will consist of 90 minutes and comprise 100 questions.
- Part B will consist of 60 minutes and comprise 75 questions.
- There will be negative marking 1/3 for marking the wrong answer.
- The minimum qualifying mark required to qualify in Part B is 35% (irrespective of category)

RRB ALP Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) 2024
Candidates eqaul to the eight times of the notified vacancies will be called for RRB ALP CBAT. The shortlisting of candidates will be done on the basis of marks scored by them in Part A of the RRB ALP CBT 2 examination, provided they qualify in RRB CBT 2 Part B.
