UPSC CSE Mains DAF-1 2024: The Union Public Service Commission has released the details notice regarding the application process for Detailed Application Form 1 (DAF-1) for the civil service mains exam 2024 on its official website.
The short notice further says, " In accordance with the Rules of the, Examination, all these candidates have to apply again in the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024, which is made available on the website of the Union Public Service Commission (https://upsconline.nic.in) during the period on or before 12.07.2024 till 6:00 P.M."

Earlier the Union Public Service Commission had declared the Civil Service Prelims Exam (CSE) and India Forest Service Exam (IFS) result on its official website. With this, the first phase which is the list of shortlisted candidates in prelims exam for the UPSC Civil Services 2024 has been finalised.
As per the selection process released earlier for UPSC CSE Exam 2024, all the successful candidates in prelims round are able to fill the detailed application form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024.
Steps To Apply For UPSC CSE DAF- 1 2024?
Step 1 : Visit the official website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) — upsc.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on the result link available under ‘What’s New’ section.
Step 3: Click on UPSC CSE Mains DAF-1 2024 Link
Step 4: Click on the exam name and register yourself.
Step 5: Fill in the necessary details and upload the required documents to complete the application form.
Step 6:Provide the required fee as per notification.
Step 7: Submit the application form and save it for future reference.

UPSC CSE Prelims Result 2024 What's Next
As per the selection process for the UPSC CSE 2024, now all the shortlisted candidates will have to appear in the next round which is UPSC CSE Mains 2024 exam. All the successful candidates will have to apply again in the detailed application form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024. The UPSC will announce the detailed schedule and process to apply for the DAF-I on its official website in due course of time.
Mains Exam DAF 1 Form Details
All the candidates who have qualified successfully in the UPSC Prelims stage will be required to apply again in the Detailed Application Form 1 (DAF 1) for the Mains exam. You will have to provide all your login credentials to the link on the official website to fill the Detailed Application Form 1 (DAF 1).

The exam is held to test the eligibility of aspirants admitted into the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other Grade A and B posts in the central government and its departments.
It is noted that UPSC had conducted the CSE prelims exam on June 16, 2024 across the country. Exams were conducted for GS paper 1 and for GS paper 2.
The UPSC has released a total of 1206 vacancies this year. Out of the total number of vacancies, 1056 are for the Civil Service Exam while 150 are for Indian Forest Services.
UPSC 2024 Selection Process
According to the UPSC IAS selection process, it consists of three phases including -Prelims, Mains and Interview.
The prelims exam was held in objective mode, however the Main exam will be conducted in descriptive mode. Finally the interview round will be held to test the candidate’s personality. A candidate has to qualify at each stage to be eligible to be appointed to the post of IAS/IPS/IFS/IRS and other posts.
