UPSC has released the result of Prelims Result 2025 on June 1, 2025. The result has been released to shortlist eligible candidates for 979 vacancies along with 150 IFS services.

Candidates who are declared successfull will be now called to appear in the Mains exam. UPSC will soon release the admit card of shortlisted candidates.

UPSC has released the prelims exam result on June 11, 2025 on its official website containing the roll number of candidates shortlisted for mains examination.

The UPSC Civil Services Mains Examination 2025 is scheduled to be held from August 22, 2025.

Candidates who qualify in the UPSC Prelims exam will be eligible to appear for the Civil Services (Main) Examination. They will need to fill out the Detailed Application Form for Mains.

The UPSC result will be released on the official website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC): upsc.gov.in.

UPSC has not released any official notice regarding the release of CSE prelims results. However, as per the previous year's trends, the result is expected to get released on Jun 14, 2025.

 The UPSC conducted the CSE Prelims Exam 2025 on May 25, 2025. The examination comprised two objective-type papers (MCQs), each of two hours’ duration and carrying a maximum of 200 marks. The marks scored in GS will be considered to select candidates for next phase, while CSAT is qualifying in nature.

Candidates who clear the CSE Prelims 2025 will be eligible for the Main Examination scheduled from August 22, 2025. Candidates must fill the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I), which becomes available soon after the prelims result is published

As per the previous year data, maximum number of candidates gets selected from Political Science & International Relations which is further followed by Geography, Sociology, Anthropology

After the release of the UPSC Prelims Result 2025, UPSC will release the individual scorecard, which will be accessed after logging in with the provided registration number and password.

The candidates who are claiming category reservation benefits must fill submit valid documents while filling out the DAF-I. Any mismatch will lead to the disqualification.

In the UPSC Civil Services Mains examination, candidates are required to choose one optional subject from a prescribed list. Each optional paper carries 250 marks and the maximum weightage of optional papers is 500 marks out of a total of 1750 marks in the UPSC Mains. There is a list of 42 optional subjects available and the applicants need to pick any one of them from the subject list prescribed by the commission

UPSC will also release the cutoff marks of each stage after the release of final results. In 2020 prelims result generel category candidates were selected at the minimimum score of 92.51 marks which is the highest in previous 5 years.

In the UPSC Prelims exam CSAT paper is qualifying in nature, candidates need to secure minimum 33% marks. Those who failed to secure minimum marks will not be called for mains examination.

UPSC Prelims Result 2025 is expected to get released by June 14, 2025. As per the previous year's trends, UPSC Prelims results get released 15-20 days after the examination. UPSC will publish the result in PDF format containing only the roll numbers of those who have qualified.

In the UPSC prelims, the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks scored by then in GS prelims. In the GS paper questions will be asked from subjects such as history, polity, economy, environment, science, current affairs, etc.

UPSC will select 979 candidates for prestigious posts such as IAS, IPS, and Group A services in the Indian Government. Along with this UPSC will also select 150 candidates for Indian Forest Service.

After the release of the UPSC Prelims Result 2025, shortlisted candidates will be called to attempt the mains examination. The UPSC mains examination will be descriptive type and will be conducted for a duration of 5 days.
