Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is a state level entrance exam for admission to different undergraduate courses like B.Tech, BHMCT, B.Arch, B.Pharma, BFAD and post graduate programmes like MBA, MCA offered by various institutions/colleges in Uttar Pradesh. There are three subjects i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in UPSEE Examination. Each subject consists of 50 questions of 200 marks. Every year around 2 lakhs candidates appear for engineering entrance exam which is conducted in offline mode at different examination centres in Uttar Pradesh.

Syllabus
For preparing any competitive examination, knowing syllabus is very important. Knowledge of syllabus helps in figuring out what to read and what to leave.
UPTU/UPSEE 2018 engineering examination consists of three papers- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
UPSEE/UPTU 2017 Mathematics Paper
Mathematics section of UPTU/UPSEE 2017 Paper covers complete syllabus of UP Board Class XI and XII Mathematics books. This section is not very tough. It consists of 50 objective type questions with no negative marking.

UPSEE/UPTU 2017 Physics Paper
The difficulty level of this section varies from easy to moderate. It has mixture of easy and moderate questions. It consists of 50 objective questions. 25 plus attempts with 85% accuracy can be considered as decent attempt.
UPSEE/UPTU 2017 Chemistry Paper
This section consists of 50 questions with no negative marking. The level of paper is easy. 30 plus attempts with 90% accuracy can be considered as a decent attempt.
How should I prepare for the examination?
Work on basics: The questions asked in UPSEE/UPTU examination are easy to moderate level. So, do not go in depth of any topic. Learn the formulae associated with it and practice as many questions as you can related to that topic.
Practice Last 5 Years’ Question Papers: Previous Years’ question papers are very helpful in knowing the difficulty level and type of questions asked in the examination. You should practice these papers within time limit so that you get an idea of how to attempt actual paper. Practicing these papers will certainly help in your examination.

Practice Sample Papers/Practice Papers: When you are finished with UPSEE last 5 years’ question papers then practice as many sample papers and practice papers as you can. Through these papers you will be able to practice new questions.
Revision notes: Proper notes will certainly help you during your examination. In UPTU/UPSEE examination most questions are asked directly on the basis of formulae. So make proper notes of mathematical formulae, important chemical reactions and important terminologies. These notes will help you in your last minute preparation and helps you to quickly go through the concepts.
When do I qualify UPTU/UPSEE Examination?
Generally the qualifying marks of UPTU/UPSEE engineering entrance examination are 26-30% of general /OBC category and 20-25% for SC/ST category. Although the cutoff marks in each section are very less yet you have to score high marks to get government colleges. The opening ranks of many reputed private colleges are also very high. So, to get admission in one of the prestigious colleges of UPTU you should score more than 50% of total marks.
Counseling Procedure:
The process of UPSEE/UPTU Counseling involves document verification, fee payment, choice filling, locking, allotment of seat and confirmation for the UP State Engineering Admissions at UPSEE/UPTU participating institutes. There are many colleges associated with UPTU, so fill your choices very carefully. College allocation to you depends on your choices you have filled during counseling.

Most of the students’ top priority is Government College and then comes private colleges. In private colleges too some are placed at high rank while others are below average.
