GVK Power and Infrastructure declared on 16 December 2010 that Private equity firm Actis and an affiliate of government of Singapore Investment Corporation committed to invest Rs 349 crore each in the GVK's energy subsidiary, GVK Energy. According to the pact signed the two investors would initially invest Rs 218 crore each. This marked the second round of such equity investment in the subsidiary, GVK Energy. In November, 3i Infrastructure Fund had invested Rs 1200 crore in it for 21.1% equity stake. GVK Power and Infrastructure over the past two months thus diluted 25% of its stakes in GVK Energy.
Hyderabad-headquartered GVK has projects aggregating to 4200 mw under various stages of development and operational power generation capacity of 909 mw.
