One of India's most recognizable gardens, the Amrit Udyan, is situated on the grounds of Rashtrapati Bhavan and is more well known as the Mughal Garden.

Amrit Udyan Open On

Amrit Udyan is open Tuesday through Sunday. Maintenance is scheduled for Mondays. The hours of operation for visitors are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. However, Amrit Udyan will be closed from February 20–21 due to Rashtrapati Bhavan's Visitors' Conference. On March 14, in observance of Holi, Amrit Udyan will also be closed to tourists.

Amrit Udyan Special Entry Dates

Amrit Udyan sets aside particular days for various groups in order to make the experience inclusive for everyone:

  • March 26: Differently-abled persons
  • March 27: Defence, paramilitary, and police personnel
  • March 28: Women and tribal women Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
  • March 29: Senior citizens

Amrit Udyan is free to enter, however, bear in mind that it is one of Delhi's most popular tourist destinations. Visitors are therefore encouraged to make reservations in advance due to the high demand, particularly if they intend to visit on weekends or special access days. Free tickets can be reserved in advance online at visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in. Free walk-in admission is another option for visitors.

How to Book a Ticket for Amrit Udyan?

Individuals who want to visit Amrit Udyan should pre-book their tickets online for their own convenience. 

Step 1: Go to the official website of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Step 2: Click on the option for "Mughal Garden Visit (Udyanotsav)."

Step 3: Enter the required details like your name and visit date.

Step 4: Upload a valid photo ID for registration.

Step 5: Confirm your details and download the digital entry pass.

How to Reach Amrit Udyan Via Metro?

The Central Secretariat Metro Station and Shivaji Stadium Metro Station are the closest metro stations for tourists wishing to take the metro; they are both only 2 kilometers distant. 

A free shuttle service is available every day from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM from Central Secretariat Metro Station's Gate No. 4 to the garden entrance.

What is Allowed and Not Allowed inside Amrit Udyan

Check the important pointers below before visiting the Amirt Udyan:

  • Visitors must enter via North Avenue Road's Gate No. 35.
  • Bookings made online require a mobile number. A maximum of 30 guests can be reserved using a single mobile number.
  • Visitors who arrive via walk-in must register at the self-service kiosks or information center.
  • Mobile phones are allowed inside the udyan, however, photography, food, bags, and tobacco products are strictly forbidden.

Moreover, the celebration of South India's rich customs, Vividhta Ka Amrit Mahotsav, will take place from March 6 to 9, adding to the allure of the Mughal Garden.
