B S Bhullar appointed Chief of Directorate General of Civil Aviation

The post of the Chief of DGCA was lying vacant for over four months after M Sathiyavathy, a 1982-batch IAS officer of the union territories cadre, was named as new Union Labour Secretary in July 2016.

B.S. BhullarSenior IAS officer B.S. Bhullar on 5 December 2016 was appointed the Chief of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

At present, Bhullar, a 1986-batch IAS officer, is working as an Additional Secretary in Civil Aviation Ministry. He was also holding the additional charge of the DGCA.

The post of the Chief of DGCA was lying vacant for over four months after M Sathiyavathy, a 1982-batch IAS officer of the union territories cadre, was named as new Union Labour Secretary in July 2016. She was the first woman chief of the aviation regulator.
