1. (d) Najla Bouden Romdhane

The President of Tunisia Kais Saied on September 29, 2021, named geologist Najla Bouden Romdhane as the first female Prime Minister of Tunisia. The move came two months after the President seized wide-ranging powers and sacked the last serving prime minister Hichem Mechichi, suspended parliament and granted himself judicial powers on July 25. 

2. (a) 9.5 percent 

Indian economy is expected to grow at 9.5 percent in 2021 and at 8.5 percent in 2022, as per the latest projections by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in its World Economic Outlook October 2021 released on October 12, 2021.

3. (d) 5.9 percent

The International Monetary Fund has lowered its global growth projection for 2021 slightly to 5.9 percent, while it has kept its projection for 2022 unchanged at 4.9 percent. The projection for 2021 is 0.1 percentage points lower than in the July forecast.

4. (b) Dr Randeep Guleria

AIIMS Delhi Director Dr Randeep Guleria was honoured with the 22nd Lal Bahadur  Shastri National Award for Excellence for his pioneer and sustained contribution in the field of medicine and pandemic awareness.

Australia has announced that it will build a 20-kilogram semi-autonomous lunar rover for NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) to take to the moon as early as 2026 in search of oxygen.

6. (a) FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2022

FIFA unveiled the official mascot of the U-17 Women's World Cup 2022 -'Ibha'- on October 11, 2021 to mark exactly one year to go until the tournament kicks off. Ibha is an Asiatic lioness representing 'Nari Shakti' or women power.

Amazon India announced on October 12, 2021 that it will directly provide 20,000 digital devices to students from underprivileged communities in India to empower them for a brighter future.
