The All India Official Language Conference 2024 will be organized at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi tomorrow i.e. on the occasion of National Hindi Day. This is the fourth edition of the conference. On this occasion, Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Diamond Jubilee special edition. During the programme, the Indian Languages Division under the Official Language Department of the Home Ministry will also be inaugurated.

Indian Army contingent has left for Salalah, Oman to participate in the 5th edition of India-Oman Joint Military Exercise "Al Najah". According to the Defense Ministry, this contingent includes 60 soldiers. It is being represented by a battalion of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment. Exercise Al Najah has been conducted biennially since 2015, alternating between India and Oman.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has launched a dedicated web portal to monitor the progress of the special Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 4.0. The aim of this campaign is to institutionalise cleanliness in central government offices. The government has decided to run a special campaign from October 2 to 31 every year to institutionalise cleanliness and reduce pending cases.

Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh recently launched the “Rangeen Machhli” mobile app in Bhubaneswar. This app will provide multilingual information on popular ornamental fish species in eight Indian languages.

The Ministry of External Affairs has recently appointed R Ravindra as the next Ambassador of India to Iceland. Ravindra is a 1999 batch Indian Foreign Service officer. Ravindra is currently serving as Deputy Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations. Earlier, he had served at the Indian Embassy in Cairo from 2001-2003 and in Tripoli, Libya from 2003-2007.
