1. Haryana

Haryana state government has recently announced to give 10% reservation to Agniveers in Mining Guard and Police recruitment. Also, 5% reservation has been announced for recruitment to Group C posts. Apart from this, there is also talk of relaxation in upper age limit for the candidates. Under this, Agniveers will be given additional exemption of 3 years.     

2. (b) Shaurya Bawa

India's Shaurya Bava won the bronze medal at the World Junior Squash Championships 2024 in Houston, Texas. This is only the second medal won by an Indian male squash player at the World Junior Squash Championships.  Asian Games gold medallist Kush Kumar was the last Indian to reach the semi-finals of the tournament in 2014.

3. (a) Sports Ministry

In view of the Paris Olympics, the government's ambitious Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI) programme was launched by the Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. It is going to get a fresh boost under the leadership of Mansukh Mandaviya. Its second phase will be started on 19th July. Earlier, the first phase of Kirti was launched in Chandigarh on March 12 this year.

In the recent presidential elections in Rwanda, President Paul Kagame has won the country's presidential election for the fourth time by securing 99 percent votes. The Republic of Rwanda is a country located in the Great Rift Valley of Central Africa. The capital of Rwanda is Kigali.

5. Maharashtra

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced a new scheme, 'Ladka Bhau' scheme, for the unemployed youth of the state on July 17, 2024. Under the scheme, a Class 12 pass trainee will get Rs 6,000, a diploma holder will get Rs 8,000, and a graduate degree holder will get Rs 10,000 per month.

Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar inaugurated the India-Mauritius Friendship Garden in Port Louis. Mauritius Foreign Minister, Manish Gobin was also present during the groundbreaking ceremony on July 16, 2024. Dr. S Jaishankar was on a two-day visit to Mauritius on July 16 and 17, 2024. Along with this, Foreign Minister Jaishankar also inaugurated the first Jan Aushadhi Center outside India.
