Meghalaya based Adhunik Cement on 28 September 2012 was acquired by the Dalmia Cement Bharat for Rs 560 crore. The Adhunik Cement have a control over ten percent of the market shares in the North-East, with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tonnes.

Dalmia Cement in January 2012, acquired fifty percent stake of the Assam based Calcom Cement for Rs 238 crore. Dalmia cement is a subsidiary venture of Dalmia Bharat Enterprises and a leading player of the domestic market in India.
