What is e-Shram Portal?
The Ministry of Labour and Employment inaugurated the e-Shram–“One-Stop-Solution” on October 21, 2024, in accordance with the budget announcement's goal of creating e-Shram as a one-stop-solution for unorganized workers to have access to numerous social security programs.
The goal of the "e-Shram—One-Stop-Solution" is the integration of various social security programs at a single portal. This makes it possible for unorganized workers who have registered on e-Shram to view the benefits they have already received and access social security programs.
Benefits of e-Shram Portal
The e-Shram portal is now connected to the National Career Service and Skill India Digital Portal, helping workers find better job opportunities and improve their skills.
So far, 13 schemes from various central ministries and departments have been linked to the e-Shram portal. These include Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM-SVANidhi), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G), and Ayushman Bharat, among others.
It is also linked to the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, providing additional benefits to workers. To make it easier for them to access government schemes, the portal has been integrated with the MyScheme platform, ensuring they don’t have to struggle to avail the benefits they are entitled to.
