India’s second-largest carmaker, Hyundai Motor India, launched a new version of its Verna sedan on 10 May 2011. The new-look Verna has a competitive starting price of Rs 7 lakh. Verna will offer 1.4 litre and 1.6 litre engine options in both diesel and petrol versions.
It will challenge Volkswagen Vento, Honda City and Maruti Sx4, among others, in the market. The price ranges from Rs 6.99 lakh for petrol base model to Rs 10.74 lakh for the diesel top-end model.
The Korean carmaker, Hyundai also revealed its plans to introduce more models in all segments to change its image of a small car specialist.
