India and Pakistan held defence secretary level talks on Siachen on 30-31 May, 2011 in New Delhi. The Indian delegation was led by Pradeep Kumar, the Indian Defence secretary and the Pakistan delegation was led by its defence secretary Syed Athar Ali. Pakistan presented a non-paper on Siachen. India and Pakistan agreed to continue the discussions in a meaningful and result oriented manner. However, no major breakthrough could be achieved at the end of the talks.
Both nations agreed to meet again at a mutually convenient date in Islamabad. India and Pakistan have maintained ceasefire along the 110km AGPL (Actual Ground Position Line) along the Saltoro Ridge.
