Orissa state government, in the last week of March 2011, decided to establish a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) with an investment of 800 crore rupees to ensure growth and development of mining areas. Large tribal populations in Sundargarh, Koraput, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar will avail from the proposed SPV. The SPV would be established on the basis of Society Registration Act and it would be responsible for carving out small development projects for the tribals in Orissa.
