The Supreme Court of India on 25 April 2013 directed the Chief Secretaries of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Goa to file affidavits on compliance of its directions on Police Reforms and constitution of the State Security Commission (SSC).
The Supreme Court Bench that was headed by Justice GS Singhvi directed the Chief Secretaries of all the six states to respond about the date of constitution of the State Security Commission along with the number sittings and minutes of meeting.
The bench ordered the Chief Secretaries to file the affidavits by 3 May 2013 and scheduled the next hearing for the same on 6 May 2013.
