Supreme Court on Delhi air pollution: The Supreme Court while hearing the case relating to the rising air pollution levels in Delhi-NCR on November 24, 2021 asked the centre to continue the measures for controlling air pollution for the next two three days. The court observed that some of the restrictions can be lifted if the pollution level comes down to 100.
The court further asked states neighbouring Delhi- Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh governments if any study has been done to show how much stubble has been removed from these States and what emission control methods have been adopted.
The Supreme Court told the centre that measures are taken when the weather becomes severe. It stated that the measures have to be taken in anticipation to stop air pollution. The top court slammed the centre saying, "this is the National Capital, imagine the signal we are sending to the world".
