Twitter on 11 February 2013 launched its first pay-by-tweet service in partnership with the American Express. The service is designed to allow the cardholders to purchase products by tweeting #hashtags. Twitter and Amex have came together to create an integrated e-commerce payment mechanism in twitter and Amex cardholders would have an access to the offers made on the website by the merchants.
Cardholders of Amex willing to purchase a product by pay-by-tweet service needs to link their cards with their twitter account through the financial service application of the firm. The cardholder will also have to confirm the messages that come as a follow-up from Amex to complete the transaction.
