USA announced on 10 July 2011 that it withheld the 800 million dollars aid to the Pakistan’s military. This action taken by the US government suggests that US doesn’t rely completely on Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.
The Security forces of Pakistan were alleged to play a role in the killing of Pakistani journalist Saleem Shahzad who wrote about infiltration of the military by extremists. US suspension of aid could be a result of this killing.
