The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USUDA) on 10 July 2012 lifetime banned three ex-staff and consultants on the cyclist’s winning Tour de France teams for drug violation. The three members are Luis Garcia del Moral, Michele Ferrari, and Jose "Pepe" Marti.
Moral was the team doctor from 1999-2003. He taught riders to use banned blood transfusion technique and steroids to increase stamina.
Ferrari was team consultant from 1999-2006. He developed a mixture of testosterone and olive oil which has to be placed under the tongue that helps riders to boost the stamina. He also advised riders how to use Erythropoietin (EPO) and to shun with the exposure.
Marti was the team physician from 1999-2007. He taught rides in Europe, how to use performance-boost drugs by taking injection.
