Recently, Dr. Jaytirth Raghavendra Joshi has been appointed the new head of BrahMos Aerospace, the organization that manufactures the supersonic cruise missile system. He has made significant contributions to India's missile programmes, especially the Prithvi and Agni missile systems.

India's first green hydrogen fuel station was inaugurated in Leh, Ladakh which will produce 80 kg of green hydrogen per day. This center will power five hydrogen fuel cell buses. It has been constructed by Amara Raja Infra for NTPC Limited.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved 'One Nation One Subscription'. A total of about Rs 6,000 crore has been allocated for One Nation One Subscription for 3 calendar years, 2025, 2026 and 2027 as a new Central Sector Scheme. This scheme has been launched nationwide for access to research articles and journal publications.

The Union Cabinet recently approved the continuation of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), running under NITI Aayog, till March 31, 2028 with an allocation of ₹2,750 crore. AIM is a flagship initiative established by NITI Aayog in 2016.

The government has recently approved the PAN 2.0 project, PAN 2.0 aims to transform the taxpayer registration system through technology. At present there are a total of 78 crore PAN cards issued in the country out of which 98% are issued to individuals. This decision has been taken in line with the goals of Digital India.

Maharatna, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with John Cockerill India Limited (JCIL), the Indian arm of the global John Cockerill Group, in Mumbai. It aims to leverage broad industry expertise and work towards innovation and sustainability.

Lithuania's film "Toxic" was awarded the prestigious Golden Peacock Award for Best Film at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), while Romanian director Bogdan Mureşanu received the Silver Peacock Award for Best Director for his film "The New Year That Never Came".

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has recently launched “Eklavya” online digital platform for the Indian Army. This platform is hosted on the Army Data Network and has a scalable architecture. Eklavya software platform is a training platform.

  1. (b) Kaziranga National Park

The 12th edition of the International Tourism Mart (ITM) aimed at promoting tourism in the country's Northeast India began on November 27, 2024 at Kaziranga in Assam. It is organised every year by the Ministry of Tourism.
