Delhi-NCR, Gurugram Schools Closed: Schools in Delhi-NCR, Gurugram will remain closed today, November 25, 2024, due to the continued poor air quality condition in the regions. Considering Delhi’s Air Quality crossing hazardous levels, the governments of Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh had ordered the closure of Schools in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurgaon.
Although the AQI in Delhi has shown signs of improvement from the ‘Severe’ to the ‘Very Poor’ category clearing the path of shifting from GRAP IV to GRAP III, schools are however expected to remain closed in the city. The Commission for Air Quality Management has revised the guidelines ordering schools to remain closed till GRAP III measures to counter the effects of pollution on children. The Delhi government has not yet announced the reopening of schools.
Gurgram School Closed
Schools in Gurugram have suspended all physical classes for students until class 12 due to a severe Air Quality Index. All government and private schools in Gurugram will remain closed as per the directive issued by the Directorate of Secondary Education, Haryana today, November 25, 2024.
The official notification issued, states that since the AQI levels in almost all Urban and Rural parts of Gurugram district are in severe category, keeping in mind the best interest of the health and safety of the children, it has been decided that all physical classes for students up to class 12 will be discontinued until November 25, 2024. The schools will remain closed in all areas of Gurugram district.
Classes will continue online as scheduled for the students in all government and private schools in the district. The Haryana state government had earlier closed schools until class 5 temporarily due to rising air pollution levels in Delhi-NCR.
