NTA Duplicate Scorecard: How To Get New Copy If JEE Main, NEET UG Scorecard Is Lost, Damaged
NTA has issued guidelines for candidates seeking duplicate scorecards if their original document is lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed. Check the application process, documents required and applicable fees.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has outlined the procedure for candidates who need a duplicate copy of their scorecard after the original has been lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed. The facility applies to scorecards issued for examinations conducted by the agency, including JEE Main, NEET UG, CUET PG and other NTA examinations.
Candidates have two ways to access their scorecard. If the document is available through DigiLocker, they can retrieve and download it directly without submitting a separate duplicate-scorecard application.
However, candidates whose scorecard cannot be accessed through DigiLocker will have to follow the prescribed duplicate-scorecard procedure. NTA has detailed the process in its notification dated September 17, 2026.
Who Can Apply For An NTA Duplicate Scorecard?
Candidates can seek a duplicate scorecard when their original document is no longer available because it has been:
- Lost or stolen
- Damaged or mutilated
- Destroyed in a fire, flood or another circumstance beyond the candidate’s control
How To Apply For Duplicate Scorecard?
Candidates who cannot obtain their scorecard through DigiLocker will need to complete the application prescribed by NTA. The application form is available as Annexure I in the notification.
The agency has provided for submission through an online portal that will be designated for this purpose. Until that portal becomes operational, candidates can submit their applications through the alternative modes specified by NTA. One option is to send the completed application and supporting documents by Registered Post or Speed Post to the Director (Examinations), National Testing Agency, at its prescribed Minto Road, New Delhi address.
Candidates can also send scanned copies of all the required documents together in one PDF file to result@nta.gov.in. However, email submission must subsequently be followed by sending the physical copies through Registered or Speed Post within 15 days of sending the email.

NTA Duplicate Scorecard Fee
The fee depends on how long it has been since the result was declared. Candidates seeking a duplicate scorecard within five years of the result declaration will have to pay Rs 1,500. For results declared more than five years but less than 10 years ago, the applicable fee is Rs 2,000. Candidates applying for a duplicate scorecard after 10 years but before 20 years from the result declaration will have to pay Rs 2,500.
Documents Required For NTA Duplicate Scorecard
Candidates applying for a duplicate scorecard will need to submit the prescribed application along with supporting documents. The key documents include:
- A completed and signed duplicate-scorecard application in the format specified by NTA.
- An affidavit prepared using the format provided as Annexure II, executed on the appropriate non-judicial stamp paper.
- A police report relating to the loss or theft, such as an FIR, DDR, NCR or lost-article report. If obtaining such a report is not possible, candidates will have to follow the alternative provision specified by NTA.
- Two recent passport-size colour photographs. One photograph is to be used with the application and the other with the affidavit. The photographs must carry the required attestation.
- A self-attested copy of the examination admit card or registration slip, if the candidate has it. This document is not mandatory.
- Proof showing payment of the applicable duplicate-scorecard fee.
- A self-attested copy of a valid government-issued photo identity document, such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, voter ID or driving licence. Candidates are also required to provide the prescribed Aadhaar copy with masked digits, wherever applicable. Applicants residing outside India can submit the required passport copy.
- The indemnity-cum-undertaking in the format prescribed by NTA under Annexure III.
Candidates should carefully check the latest NTA notification and prescribed annexures before submitting their request, particularly because the agency has specified formats and attestation requirements for some documents.
NTA Duplicate Scorecard: DigiLocker Option
Candidates should first check whether their scorecard is available through DigiLocker. If it is accessible there, they can download the document without going through the separate duplicate-scorecard application process.
Those unable to retrieve the scorecard through DigiLocker can use the duplicate-scorecard procedure prescribed by NTA.
