The government has chosen to amend the norms for establishing medical colleges in Karnataka state. Government will entertain no new proposal of setting up Medical College in Bangalore until new policies are not framed.

The cabinet sub-committee held a meeting on Thursday, to pass 4 new applications and ended up deciding to frame new rules, after the committee found serious indiscretion in proposal applications forms of 4 new Medical colleges.
After the Cabinet meeting, TB Jayachandra (Law Minister) said, "We are framing a new policy to do away with old rules of establishing medical colleges across the state’’,

He added, "The applications processed by Rajiv Gandhi University of Medical Sciences did not have essential information on trust members involved in setting up the colleges. One college has no building and land but still they wanted permission. This is ridiculous. If necessary, we will initiate action against them,''.
Jayachandra said, "We want new colleges in backward districts,” and informed the government has come to a decision of not allowing setting up of Medical colleges in Bangalore city.
