About:
Birla Institute of Technology & Science is an Indian institute of higher education and a deemed to be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act. The university has 15 academic departments, and focuses primarily on the education in engineering and the sciences. The institute was established in 1964. BITS has other centres located at Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai. BITS conducts an all-India computerised competitive entrance examination, BITSAT (BITS Admission Test) for the admission in its various programmes.

Eligibility:
For admission to all the Integrated First Degree Programmes except (B.E. Hons.) candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English. The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology subjects. Students who are appearing for 12th examination in the year of the examination or who have passed 12th Examination a year ago, only are eligible to appear in the BITSAT.
Admission Procedure:
Candidates who wish to appear in BITSAT can apply through an online form giving The candidate has to provide the programme preferences and marks obtained in 12th class examination and other relevant information. The link for applying to first degree programmes will be available on the official website of the BITS. Notifications regarding the BITSAT will be published on all the news papers and on online portals.
