The Board of Technical Education Rajasthan (BTER) declared the results for Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test 2012 on 13 June 2012. This time once again girls have outshined boys. Bikaner girl Chavi Chaudhry and Alwar boy Saumya Mittal, stood first and Jaipur girl Ashima Jain bagged third position.
The successful candidates who have cleared the examination will be eligible for admission into various engineering colleges. This year 60,000 fought for 52,000 seats in 150 engineering colleges. The counselling in the colleges will start after 10 days and if seats remain vacant after the first round of counselling, then the colleges will go for second and third round of counselling.
During the current session i.e 2012-13, 2,000 more seats were available with the increase of number of seats in eight to 10 colleges. The successful students would have to fill up the options in the OMR sheet for the counselling purposes. The board officials said classes for the new session would begin in the first week of June. It is most likely that nearly 15,000 seats will be left vacant as many students who appeared in this exam have cracked the IIT-JEE and the AIEEE.
