The experts at Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had decided to give 6 bonus marks to candidates who had attempted question number 26 of Mathematics Paper (Set III)

The experts at Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had decided to give 6 bonus marks to candidates who had attempted question number 26 of Mathematics Paper (Set III). The decision was taken in view of printing error in the question and will be irrespective of whether or not it was attempted by the student.

CBSE had confirmed the printing error in question number 26 of mathematics paper (Set III) which was based on Differential Equation as ‘(Xex/y+y) dx = xdy" where instead of 'x/y' it should have been 'y/x'. The marks allotted for the question was 6 and hence students left no stone unturned to solve it thereby losing on the time for other questions.

According to the grapevine, forums like Parents Forum for Meaningful Education are unhappy with the printing error and seek justification for the loss of time and stress that the students had to go through while attempting the paper. The Mathematics paper was conducted on 20 March 2013 from 10.30 am.
