Each item consists of a word in capital letters followed by four words or groups of words. Select the word or groups of words that is most similar in meaning to the word in capital letters.

The meaning of the word deplore means – expressing strong condemnation of something. An appropriate synonym for the word is – regret.

Synonyms for the word ‘Motivation’ are – motive, stimulus, stiumulation, inspiration, impulse, inducement, incitement, provocation, etc.

Answer. A

Residue means a small amount of something that remains after the main part has gone or been taken or used. Remainder is an appropriate word to denote this meaning.

4. PERPETUAL

Answer. C

Perpetual means never ending or changing. Synonyms for it are – everlasting, eternal, endless, enduirng, ageless, immortal, etc.

5. ASSENT

Answer. D

Assent means approval or agreement. Synonyms for it are – concur, acede, endorse, support, etc.

6. DEFIANCE

Answer. D

Defiance means open resistance. Synonyms for it are – resistance, opposition, confrontation, contempt, rebellion, etc.
