Each item consists of a word in capital letters followed by four words or phrases as (a), (b), (c) and (d). Select the word or phrase which is nearly opposite to the meaning of the original word.

Answer. B
Forbid means refuse to allow. Hence, the synonym of forbid is allow.

2. AMBIGUOUS

(a) definite
(b) constant
(c) shapeless
(d) determined

Answer. A
Ambiguous means something which is not clear. Its antonym is definite.

3. COUNTERFEIT

(a) destructive
(b) genuine
(c) affirm
(d) harmonize

Answer. B
Counterfeit means which is something fake. For example counterfeit currency. The antonym is genuine.

Answer. D
Fusion means which is something mixed. For instance fusion music. Its antonym is separation.

5. ESCALATE

Escalate means making something more intense. Its synonym is bring down.

6. TERMINATE

(a) imitate
(b) interrupt
(c) initiate
(d) examine

Answer. C
Terminate means end. Its antonym is initiate.

7. GRAVITATE

(a) meditate
(b) become serious
(c) deteriorate
(d) retreat

Answer. D
Gravitate means to move towards something. Its antonym is retreat.
