Director General, State Transport, Haryana, Chandigarh issued notification for recruitment of 1513 Heavy Vehicle Contract / Daily Wages Basis Drivers in various depots of Haryana Roadways. Interested eligible candidates can apply till 10 December 2012.

Name of the Post: Heavy Vehicle Contract/Daily Wages Basis Drivers
Age Limit (as on 10 December 2012):
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 40 years
(Age relaxations will be extended as per Govt. rules).
Educational Qualification: Candidate must be a Matriculate with Hindi or Sanskrit from a recognized Board / University. He should be holding a valid Transport Vehicle Driving License and have minimum 2 years’ experience of driving a Heavy Goods Vehicle including proficiency in driving a Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicle or 10 years experience of driving a vehicle in the Armed Forces.
Application Fee: Anon-refundable. Non-transferable application fees of Rs.200 (for General category candidates) / Rs.50 for SC / BC candidates of Haryana State has to be paid through a crossed Demand Draft issued by any Nationalized / Scheduled Bank in favour of ‘The Director General, State Transport, Haryana, Chandigarh.’
No fee concession is admissible to SC / BC candidates of other States. The ESM candidates of Haryana are exempted from payment of fee, but their dependents are required to pay the fee as General / SC / BC candidate, as the case may be.
Selection Procedure: Candidates would be selected on the basis of their performance in Driving Proficiency Test and Interview.
As part of the Driving Proficiency Test, candidates will have to appear for:
DUG Test;
ZIGZAG/8-Shape Test (both forward & reverse);
Road Test, etc;
Only those candidates who would qualify all the stages of Driving Proficiency Test would be called for the Interview. Final category-wise selection list shall be based on the marks obtained on account of experience, educational qualifications and in the interview.
Appointment: Initially, the appointment will be on contract basis for a period of three years from the date of appointment. The Heavy Vehicle Contract / Daily Wages Basis Drivers would be upgraded as Heavy Vehicle Driver Grade-II on successful and satisfactory completion of three years in service and further as Heavy Vehicle Driver Grade-I after satisfactory service of two years as Heavy Vehicle Driver Grade-II.
Pay: Selected Candidates would be initially paid a consolidated amount as pay per month. On promotion they will be paid as Grade II Driver and on further promotion as Grade I driver.
