Jagranjosh.com: How do you feel after getting success in IAS exam 2012?
Debasweta: My first reaction was of extreme relief and elation. This is a huge opportunity being given to me. I wish to use this opportunity to serve the nation and the society.
Jagranjosh.com: Please tell me about your educational background, schooling and higher education.
Debasweta: I did my schooling from Delhi Public School, Noida. I did my class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Economics. I did my economics honours from Miranda House, University of Delhi. Right after my graduation I started preparing for Civil Services. My father is an engineer in NTPC, Noida. My mother is a homemaker. I have an elder sister, Subhasweta Banik.
Jagranjosh.com: When did you choose to become a civil servant and why?
Debasweta: During my graduation years. To serve the people at grass-root level.
Jagranjosh.com: Who is your role model?
Debasweta: My father is my role model.

Debasweta: It was my first attempt.

Debasweta: One year is more than suffice for the preparation of civil services exam.
