Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) has joined hands with the Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS), New Delhi to host the 6th All India Conference of China Studies (AICCS) from 12-14 December, 2013. An annual flagship event of the ICS, Delhi, the AICCS is based on the theme ‘Reforms, Management and Social Transformation'.
The conference is aimed to cover the economic reforms in China in the post-Mao era, that is, after 1978 and their all-around impact on the Chinese society, letting China to become one of the major economically powerful countries in the world. The world has observed a very unique social engineering in China under the blanket of 'socialism with Chinese characteristics' that resulted out constant innovations in the management of party- state-society relations. This whole process led to a major Chinese social transition and transformation.
The idea behind the conference is to have an overall idea and understanding of the functioning of the Chinese socialist market economy while creating awareness and strengthening research in China and East Asian Studies in India.
