JEE Main 2017 Offline examination was held on 2nd April 2017 at 1,781 centres across India in which over 10 lakhs students participated. This paper consisted of 90 questions and was of three hour duration. The maximum mark for this paper was 360 and there were three sections in the question paper which consisted of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Mostly simple and straightforward questions
Most of the JEE Main 2017 aspirants found this section easy. Most questions were straight forward and based on concepts given in CBSE Class 12 Physics NCERT textbook.
Overall balanced Section
Most aspirants were happy with this section and easily finished this section in time.

Mostly tricky and lengthy questions
In JEE Main 2017 Question Paper, most aspirants found that mathematics questions were quite lengthy and calculative. A JEE Main aspirant told that although she did well in her CBSE Class 12 Mathematics Board Paper but she could not attempt more than 15 questions out of 30 questions.
Overall difficult Section
Overall this section was difficult and lengthy and consumed a lot of time of aspirants.
This year no weightage will be given to class 12 marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE Main 2017. So, only those candidates will be allowed to appear for JEE Advanced 2017 who qualify JEE Main 2017.
