    KARTET Eligibility Criteria: The Government of Karnataka is going to conduct its KARTET exam for recruiting the candidates on teaching posts. The KARTET notification was released on 05th December 2018 and as per this notification, the KARTET exam is scheduled to be held on 03rdFeburary 2019. KARTET exam is an excellent opportunity to become a government teacher in Karnataka state schools.

    KARTET exam is a mandatory exam for teaching candidates, who belong to the Karnataka state. KARTET exam does not guarantee any employment but it is a prerequisite for teaching posts. After qualifying the KARTET exam, successful candidates will receive a certificate stating your suitability for the teaching post. With this KARTET qualifying certificate, you can sit in the interview process conducted by the state government and this certificate will remain valid for the next 7 years. There is no need to appear in the next KARTET exams. So, please take it seriously and start preparing. Candidates, who had appeared in CTET exam, can easily qualify this exam as the KARTET syllabus & exam pattern is quite similar with the CTET exam.

    Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2018 Cutoff Marks

    To appear in the KARTET 2018 exam, you have to fulfill all the minimum requirements laid by the Karnataka state government. During filling up the KARTET online application form, a candidate must possess all the eligibilities as stated in the KARTET notification. In the following article, we will know about the minimum educational qualifications and other criteria required to appearing in the KARTET exam-

    Karnataka TET (KARTET) Eligibility Criteria

    The eligibility criteria for KARTET exam is similar to all other TET exams like CTET, UPTET, HPTET, MPTET, HTET, and so on. KARTET exam is organized to recruit the candidates to teach for Classes I-V and Classes VI-VIII. There will be two separate papers namely Paper-1 and Paper-2.

    • Paper-1: This paper will be compulsory for those teaching candidates, who are willing to teach for Classes I-V. The difficulty level of this paper will be similar to the secondary level.
    • Paper-2: This paper is mandatory to teach for Classes Vi-VIII and the difficulty level of this paper will be quite similar to the senior secondary level.

    Note: Candidates, who want to become a teacher for both levels, has to sit in both papers.

    KARTET 2018 eligibility criteria: Following persons will be eligible for the KARTET exam and failing in these requirements lead to the cancellation of your candidature.

    1. Minimum qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Paper-1)

    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education

    OR,

    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year or 4th year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

    OR,

    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

    OR,

    B.A / B.Sc. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

    2. Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Paper-2) 

    B.A / B.Sc. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

    OR,

    B.A / B.Sc. / Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)

    OR,

    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

    OR,

    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A.Ed. /B.Sc.Ed.

    OR,

    B.A. / B.Sc. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in Final-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

    3. Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-VIII (Paper-1 & 2) 

    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

    OR,

    B.A/B.Sc. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

    Important Points:

    • Relaxation of up to 5% in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to reserved categories such as SC/ST/CI/Differently abled.
    • A Diploma/Degree course in teacher education approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) will be considered valid only.
