Vardhman Mahavir Open University of Kota (VMOU) is currently uploading about one thousand lectures of 10 minutes, each that covers most topics of most subjects on its website as well as YouTube to offer global students a classroom like experience.
Vinay Kumar Pathak (Vice Chancellor of Kota University) said that the lectures uploaded on university’s website and Youtube will allow students to access the study information on each subjects and will give them liberty to learn from it, from any place, using their mobile phones or laptops.
Mr. Pathak, who was honoured by the World Education Congress in 2012, mentioned that ICT & technological development has brought immense changes in the betterment of the education field since it has helped distance learning becoming more significant and result-oriented.
Besides, VMOU has created a separate website, meant to be used by research scholars.
The university is soon going to set up vocational study centres for the tribals in the regions of Pratapgarh and Banswara. This is intended to bring the tribal community into mainstream by educating them.
The university is focussing on efficacy of distance education, for which, it is developing an open education resource program including short term courses to add value and will also provide quality study material.
