PhD admission 2013 in Commerce at Calcutta University

• Date of Admission Test: 5 April 2013 from 12 noon to 2 pm
• Date for announcement of written test result: 16 April 2013
• Date of Interview: 19 April 2013

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Post graduate degree in Commerce with at least 50% Marks obtained in (or allied disciplines subject to endorsement by the concerned Ph.D. Committee) from any UGC recognized University are eligible to appear in the Examination.

Those who have qualified in NET/GATE/SLET or already obtained MTech or M.Phil degree would be exempted from the written examination.

Selection Process

The candidates will be selected on the basis of Admission Test of 50 marks and interview of 50 marks by the university. The written test shall consist of Research proposal (in about 1000 words) – 30 marks and Short essay (in about 600 words) on any topic of contemporary relevance in the field of management, finance or accounting (topic to be specified by the examining authority at the time of the written test) – 20 marks.

Application Fee and Mode of Payment

Candidates are requested to deposit application fee of Rs100 either by cash or DD through duly filled in C.U. Challan, endorsed by the Head of the Department.

How to Apply

Candidates are required to submit duly filled in application form along with a challan, against the payment, is to be endorsed by the Head of Department (HOD). The filled in form is to be submitted to the Head of the Department (Commerce), Asutosh Building, 87/1 College Street, University of Calcutta, Kolkata – 700 019 C.U.
