Eligibility Criteria for Deck Rating, Cook and Other Posts
Educational Qualification and Experience:
- Deck Rating (Lascar) - Two years experience in the grade of Deck Rating (Lascar) / GP Rating (or) equivalent and above and should have completed all STCW basic safety courses
- Seacunny - Two years experience in the grade of Seacunny (or) equivalent and should have completed all basic STCW safety courses (STNC)
- Cook - Two years of experience in the grade of cook on board vessels and should have completed basic safety course (STWC) for Inland vessels
- Greaser - Two years experience in the grade of Engine Rating / GP Rating (or) equivalent and above, should have completed all STCW basic safety courses
- Serang - Certificate of competency of minimum as Master 2nd Class issued under IV Act (or) equivalent certificate issued under MS Act, 1958. The COC must have been duly endorsed by Chief Examiner, A&N Administration for plying in Andaman & Nicobar water, after clearing river test
- Engine Driver 2nd Class - Certificate of competency of minimum as Engine Driver 2nd Class under IV Act (or) equivalent certificate issued under MS Act, 1958

Selection Procedure for Deck Rating, Cook and Other Posts
Eligible candidates after short listing of applications will be called for swimming test followed by trade test and interview. The candidates for Serang shall be called for River test
